Which dock is the BEST dock at Marina Shores?? We are asked this frequently when talking to new customers. Well, there’s no better way to find out than to put each dock to the test.
During our monthly Member Socials in June (6/9), July (7/14) & August (8/11), each dock will have the opportunity to compete against the other docks for the title of “BEST DOCK”.
If your boat is moored on H-Dock, you’re on the H-Dock team. F-Dock is the F-Dock Team and so on. Dry Storage members are eligible to represent E-Dock in each DockWAR.
Marina Shores will put together one family-friendly competition per month with each dock acting as a team. The winning dock each month will get to fly the “BEST DOCK” flag, sponsored by Captain Max King’s Marine, on their pier for that month.
Will your team have its own name? Will you show up in team colors? Let’s see which dock really is the “BEST DOCK”.

New signs have been posted throughout the property. Keep your eyes open for:
TOW-AWAY PARKING ZONES: Member decal parking is available past Surf Rider Restaurant. Please note there are now TWO signs on either side of the road indicating this is a tow-away zone. Members must have their member decal displayed on the back of their vehicles at all times to park in this area.
RESTAURANT DOCKAGE: Surf Rider Restaurant rents the boat slips on the East side of E-Dock. There are large signs displayed on the fence line indicating Restaurant Docking (east side) and Reserved Docking (west side) to help boaters find available restaurant slips more easily. The west side of the dock is available by RESERVATION only. Please call 757-496-7000 for reservations.
LAUNDRY ROOM: Coin laundry machines are available in the restroom corridor inside the dry storage building.
POOL RULES: Large signs have been posted as a reminder of our pool rules. You can find these signs at the parking lot entrance to the pool and the outside shower wall at the west side of the pool.
SLOW DOWN: Please slow down and drive carefully through the parking lot.
Vessel Safety Checks: Vessel Safety Checks are the best way to prevent being boarded by local authorities for on-water inspections. Call Marina Shores member and Coast Guard Auxiliary member, Craig Huber at 757-828-6393, to schedule a convenient time to have your boat inspected prior to your next outing.
Call-Ahead Launches: Monday through Thursday (except holidays) you are welcome to call ahead to have your boat launched to the water. Friday, Saturday and Sunday you must be on the property and check-in at the Launch Office to have your boat launched. You must be present before requesting a work rack.
Night Launches: A night launch is when a boat owner wants their boat taken out of dry storage but will not arrive to use it until after closing hours of the Dry Storage building. Night launch reservations must be made to the Launch Office at least one hour prior to the close of business.
Docks: Docks are to be kept clean at all times. Loose gear is not to be stored on the docks. Grills and propane tanks are strictly prohibited.
Trailer Loads/Unloads: As a member of Marina Shores, you will receive two complimentary trailer loads, one when you arrive and one when you terminate at the end of the lease period. These loads are not cumulative. Any additional member trailer loads will incur an expense of $50.00 each time. Please schedule these at least 24 hours in advance with the Admin Office.
Wet Slips for Dry Storage Customers: Dry Storage members MUST call the Administration Office Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM to reserve the use of a complimentary, weekend wet slip. A slip will be assigned to you for the duration of the time reserved. There are a limited number of slips available, assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. The boat must be returned to Dry Storage at the end of the day your reservation ends.
Work Racks: Work racks are available to members on a first-come, first-serve basis. Owner-performed repairs and maintenance on a boat will be allowed if such work is performed in a reasonable manner and does not inconvenience or disturb Marina patrons. The extent of boat repairs and maintenance at dockside are at the discretion of the Marina’s management. Power washing and bottom paintings are not allowed to be performed by members on the Marina’s property or over an impervious surface. All work is done at owner’s risk. Boats left unattended for more than 30 minutes will be returned to their assigned storage location. You must be present to request a work rack; no call-ins. Wet slip customers receive one free work rack per month (upon availability) Monday thru Wednesday (holidays excluded). Any additional day after the first three days will be charged at a rate of $20 per day.
Garbage: Marina Shores Litter Prevention Program. Please help us keep our Marina clean and free of all debris by using the trash containers located at the head of each dock. It is illegal to dispose of any used batteries, oil, or any other environmentally unsafe materials in the trashcans or dumpsters. It is the responsibility of the boat owner, or subcontractor, to dispose of these materials properly by removing it from the premises. Remember, cigarette butts do not belong in the water.
