Our waters in Virginia Beach, rarely get cold enough to freeze on Long Creek so we are lucky to be able to maintain running water throughout the majority of winter. However, there are some cold spells throughout the season that warrant some precautionary measures.
If temperatures are forecasted to be at or below freezing, our policy is to temporarily shut off the water valves to the docks to prevent pipes from bursting. An email notice is sent out to active members when these shut-offs are scheduled. We also try to remind boaters to fill up their water tanks regularly during the winter months in case there is an emergency shut off. Water to the pool restrooms remain on during these drops in temperature so please feel free to continue to use these restrooms during winter.
We also have an agreement with Long Bay Pointe ( Lat: 36.9040 Long: -076.0731 ) for our members to utilize their pump out service. We do suggest you call ahead to assure there will be qualified staff available for your pump out. Long Bay Pointe’s phone number is 757-321-4550 .
Bicycles: Please use the bike racks to store your bikes. DO NOT store bikes at the entrance to the dock ramps. Bikes found at the entrance to ramps are subject to confiscation.
Boat Referrals = $$$: Remember fans, if you refer a boater you earn up to $200 CASH! Membership not required to be eligible for reward.
Fuel Containers: Due to environmental regulations the EPA prohibits you from fueling your boat with outside containers.

Seaworthiness: ALL vessels are required to be seaworthy, in accordance with your lease terms, (paragraphs 7 & 14).
Lock Your Dock: Marina Shores is the only Marina in the area with locking gates to each dock. Please be sure to lock the gate each time you enter or leave your dock. If you need access or forget your key you can come to the administrative office or talk to any staff member.
